In the park of Jelšingrad Manor stands the magnificent linden tree, also known as the Tanzlinde. This special tree is unique in Slovenia and has a rich history — it already grew by Jelšingrad Manor in the 17th century, as depicted in a copper engraving by G. M. Vischer from the time when the manor belonged to Regina Felicite, Countess Gaisruck.
Tanzlinde, the millennia-old village linden trees of Central Europe, traditionally served as gathering places for community meetings, celebrations, and festivities. The Jelšingrad linden tree, located west of the manor, offers visitors a cultural and natural experience, connecting the local history with the tradition of village gatherings.
